My Samuel Henry Hambrick - some say Henry Samuel Hambrick is buried in Fair View Cemetery in Roanoke, Virginia next to his son, Bedford Curtis Hambrick(my ggrandfather) His stone- Samuel Henry Hambrick age 70 d. February 12, 1928 buried next to him is Molly Bowman age 46 d. May 10, 1927 note from my aunt says- (asister to Samuel probably as papa use to speak of Aunt Molly) I really don't know next to Molly Bowman is Emit Moses Hambrick 18mo. D.July 11, 1926 note from my aunt says "I don't know of this child" Last grave she gave me was Merle (Marie) Hambrick 8mo D. 9/11/1926 This child is a daughter of Bedford Curtis Hambrick There are other Hambricks at this site, but my aunt only gave me the ones I didn't know about, the others are already on my tree. Oh, well, I have another relative I can send out if I need her. My aunt said she spoke to the cemetery managers, they would not help her with records at all. Next info I received this week- A cousin sent me notes different people had written for her over the years- Samuel Henry Hambrick b. December 26, 1857 note says he was born in Rocky Mount County, Old Hambrick Mill (whatever that means) d. February 12, 1928 buried Fair View Cem. Roanoke, Va. married 3 x's 1. Mary Francis Hall d.1889 She had 3 sisters and 3 or 4 brothers Samuel and Mary Francis had the following Children: Bedford Curtis Hambrick b 7/1/1883 Gogginsville, Franklin, Va. Thomas Evlyn(Eddie) Hambrick Spouse Nannie Grier or Greer Minnie Lee Hambrick (Spouse Ed Crawford) Frances Hambrick (she died young) 2. Nanny unk. from Baltimore Samuel and Nanny (Nannie) had the following Children: Russell Hambrick Hallie Hambrick (daughter) 3. Sally Fisher (she had 2 children from a previous marriage, she and Samuel had no children Samuel Hambrick had the following siblings: 1. Nathaniel Hambrick spouse Liza Kingery 8-10 children 2. Joseph Hambrick spouse Emily Pickerell(maybe Pickrel) 4 children 3. Eli Hambrick spouse (Lilly?) Eli buried in Gogginsville Cemetery Note: There is an E.I. Preston Hambrick b.1866 d. 1926 buried in the Gogginsville Cemetery, this may be ELI 4. Riley Hambrick spouse Fannie Beckner Note: There is a Fannie Hamebrick ,d. 1934 age 37 yrs.(Wife of R.O. Hamebrick) buried in the LaPrade Cemetery (Franklin Co) Somehow, I believe the wife of Riley Hambrick would have been older than this, but I really don't know. 5. Emily Hambrick spouse unk Kingery 6. Ellen Hambrick spouse unk LaPrade 8 Lucy Hambrick spouse unk Saul Another person did a lookup of Hambricks in the "Cemetery Record of Franklin County, Virginia and sent me this ROUND HILL (GIBSON) CEMETERY (PG.64) LOCATED .4 MILE NORTHEAST OF RT. 739 ANDRT. 643 INTERSECTION HAMBRICK, Sallie F., b. September 1, 1865 d. May 15, 1935 Is this possibly the Sallie Fisher who married Samuel Henry the 3rd time? Some of the other usrnames in this cemetery are Doyle, Daniel, Gibson, Wright, Arrington, Ferguson, Frith, and Greer. In addition, there are 22 graves marked with fieldstone. GOGGINSVILLE CHURCH CEMETERY (1&2-PG 168, 3&4-PG 169) This must be the Methodist Church cemetery. It is located at Rt. 919 and Rt. 641 intersection. HAMBRICK, Dinkie LaPrade, b. Dec 9, 1890 d. July 28, 1962 HAMBRICK, Corrie Taylor, b. Mar 3, 1892 d. Nov 12, 1972 HAMBRICK, E.I. Preston, b. 1866 d. 1926 HAMBRICK, Amos, b. 1902 d. 1904 Other surnames are Sink, Jones, Laprade, Aker, Hinshaw, Hodges, Smithers, Heckman, Doss, Lavinder, Bussey, Walton, Wright, Turman, Johnson, Williams, Swanson, Martin, & Burgess. There are four unmarked graves and one marked with fieldstones. Note: My family insist that Bedford Curtis Hambrick has an infant daughter Mabel in this cemetery, and that Eli is buried here. LAPRADE CEMETERY(PG.98) LOCATED ON RT. 635 .1 MILE SOUTH OF RT. 700 HAMEBRICK, Fannie, d. 1934 age 37 yrs (wife of R.O. Hamebrick) The other surnames in this cemetery are Leprad, Lapradd, &Laprade If anyone knows who any of these Hambricks are would sure appreciate the info Bambi in Florida
