    1. [HAMRICK-L] David & James David Hamrick
    2. Dear Barbara, Finally a line I can help with a little. David HAMRICK, b. 27 Jan 1830 - d. 2 Jun 1895 (source: Records of Jasper County, Georgia From the Georgia Department of Archives and History by Robert Scott Davis, Jr., page 80 and tombstone at Concord Baptist Cemetery) was really James David Hamrick. He was married to Susan Ann SCOGGINS, but I've never found a date or location for the marriage. The cemetery, by the way, is on Temple Road near Carrollton; his will was dated 3 May 1895 and is found in Will Book A, pages 337-338. Susan Ann was born 19 Apr 1835 and died 20 Dec 1934, according to her tombstone. Her father was Gilliam SCOGINS (one G). She was from Chattooga County, GA. They had either 9 or 10 children (I only have the names of 9, but I think she listed 10 on one of the censuses; but I'm not sure). Anyway, the children were: Margaret E., Francis, James David (the doctor), Gilliam A., Elizabeth, Mary, D. Harrison, William and Lula. James David Jr., as you wrote, was born 12 Mar 1858 and died 7 May 1937. He married Priscilla Neal GARDNER on 29 Sep 1886 in Carroll County, GA (marriage book F, page 486). Priscilla was born, possibly (I cannot document this one), on 28 Jun 1866 in Giles County, TN. (And if this is verified, then I wonder if she was a GARNER instead of a GARDNER and if I'm collaterally related to her, too.) She is said to have died 21 Apr 1961. They were the parents of: James Daniel Hamrick, III, George, Neal, Gertrude, Norvell, and Malcolm. Gertrude married Ralph Sebastian BROWN, and his grandson, Earl Brown, provided her date of birth; she was his father's step-mother. James David Hamrick (Sr.) was the son of Rebecca KEITH and Harrison HAMRICK. Pat [email protected] At 08:45 PM 7/8/98 EDT, you wrote: >Here's all I know of my line of Hamrick's, which is very little.
