Chris and List Members: Just thought I would pass this word along - the DAR has Jacob Conrad line closed which means nobody can join until the lineage gets straighten out correctly - I have filed twice and papers sent back and you lose the filing fee when its on a supplemental. I am going on his line a different way now through patriotic service as donating to the cause instead of his time served in service and this way is much easier. Write me if you need more info on joining DAR. If you are related to Jacob Conrad then maybe you can connect with my other proven ancestor lines in DAR. I have the following men connected to Conrad families: William Currence Sr., VA - Col. Benjamin Wilson, VA -Major William Haymond, Va. The DAR application is on a floppy and can be used for original application or supplementals - its so easy to use and fast with filling in the blanks and copy on acid free paper which can be purchased through DAR or paper supply stores.This process is faster then typing and makes a neat written form -I teach workshops at DAR meetings using the Disk Application Process. You can mail to DC for a record copy of a person going through a certain child of your ancestor that may give you a clue or a copy of a relative's application if they were a member of DAR.
