    1. Re: [HAMRICK-L] Flames
    2. Hello Jill Well, I am new to the list (and besides, I don't even know if my Homrig was even a Hamrick), so perhaps I should keep my mouth shut (or my fingertips off the keyboard). Also, I have unfortunately not kept the previous messages in this matter. (Life's too short for this kind of controversy.) BUT: I distinctly remember that Steven, the expert, said he was unsubscribing in the same message in which he put down the person he thought had asked a stupid question, and I myself marvelled at the tone of his put-down. The reply which supposedly drove him to unsubscribe came afterwards. (And besides, the tone of the reply was far milder than the tone of Steven's put-down.) Yes, absolutely, people should do their own research. By all means. But sharing information graciously is a virtue, and if someone cannot do that, should others put up with uncivil behaviour just because that person knows a thousand times more? I get enough sniping, griping, and side-swiping at work (where I have no choice whom I must deal with). Do I need it in my free time, too? Are we having fun? I have no axe to grind regarding Steven (for or against). I am merely trying to report (1) what I saw, and (2) how I (uninitiated, without any previous knowledge of the people concerned) felt about it. Alan Leighton
