    1. [HAMRICK-L] Re: An extra Harrison Hambrick... is he yours?
    2. For the past several months I have received help from various folks on this list in my search for my ancestor Meshack Hambrick (1793-c1875) who apparently came from Jasper County Georgia to Alabama prior to 1819. Here's an interesting twist: For many years, various researchers have compiled lists of the children of Meshack Hambrick and his wife Rebecca (Kelly) Hambrick (1796-c1875). These lists always include their youngest son Harrison T. Hambrick (born circa 1839). Recently while at the Lowndes Co. Alabama courthouse doing some research, I came upon several documents that list Harrison T. Hambrick as the "ward" of Meshack Hambrick - in other words, not his son as has previously been thought. I was unsuccessful in locating the origin of the guardianship proceedings. Several books are missing from their early records unfortunately. The dates do not work out for Harrison to be Meshack's grandson. That leads me to believe that he must be a nephew. For what it's worth, Harrison T. married Missouri Matilda Tomlinson in 1859 and died before 1865. Missouri Matilda Tomlinson Hambrick subsequently married Robert McDaniel in 1866 and Miles McCarty in 1871. The only child of Harrison T. and Missouri Matilda was Laura C. Hambrick who was born in 1860 in Lowndes County and married John R. Harkey in 1878. They subsequently moved to San Saba County, Texas. So - I have an extra Harrison T. Hambrick. Does anyone know where he might belong? Are you missing one? That might give me a clue (finally!) as to where my Meshack Hambrick fits into this puzzle. Interestingly, Meshack himself was presumably a ward of Micajah Stinson when he was a child. Recent delving into Micajah Stinson's lineage does not offer any clues as to a family connection. Help? Advice? Thanks David Sanders ([email protected])
