Hello, everybody I am seeking information on Wilhelm Bernhard (later, William) Homrig of Wausau, Marathon Co., Wisconsin. Listed as WILLIAM HAMMRICK in the 1860 U. S. Census, Wisconsin, Marathon Co., Town of Jenny, p. 73: 27 yrs old (thus born ca. 1833) b. in Prussia, wife Fried[e]ricke [Schwartz], 19 yrs old (thus b. ca. 1841) b. in Prussia, son William [H.] b. Apr 1860 in Marathon Co. I know William and Friedericke married on 3 July 1859 in Jenny, Marathon (now in Lincoln) Co., WI. William served as sheriff of Marathon Co. in 1871 and 1872. He took a bullet in the chest in a shoot-out in the line of duty. He never really fully recovered, but did live for about 15 years, dying on 25 Feb 1887.
