    3. Ted, I went to Crest High School and then to Gardner-Webb University with Don. I do not know anything about his parents but his death cert. should show their names. Don dropped out of Gardner-Webb. He was killed in Vietnam. I could poss. look in my school year books for more info if you would like for me to. 1. [HAMRICK-L] Chesley or Chester Hamrick
    2. Hi Hamrick researchers. I haven't posted this in awhile but we have some new list members. I am trying to track down a Chesley or Chester Hamrick, born about 1887 in Shelby, NC and died, unknown date/place, before 1953. I don't find him in the S.S. Death Index. He was the son of Edmund and Caroline Hamrick of Shelby, NC (both died before 1900 in a flu epidemic). He was a wanderer/world traveler, traveling by steam ship or railroad, working for his passage, coming back to Shelby from time to time. Bev Barnes Shelby, NC

    1. [HAMRICK-L] Thompson B Hamrick
    2. 16 June 1852: Heirs of Jeremiah Runyon/Runions want to sell his land, and it will not be a legal sale without all the heirs agreeing. Frances (Runions) Hamrick is dead, so her heirs must agree to sell the portion belonging to Frances, which will be divided by the number of children she had, which looks like 7. 10 Jan 1854 Cobb Co GA: Sally (Sarah) Hamrick is of age and can act on her own; Irena (Hamrick) Stancel is married so she can act on her own or through her husband. James R Hamrick is of age and acting on his own accord. They are asking for their share of the proceeds, with their father as their agent. 10 Jan 1854 Cobb Co GA: Narcissa, Adaline, Blanton and Jane are minors and represented by their father. The father is asking for the proceeds for his minor children. This is valuable in identifying the maiden name of Frances and separating her children from Essie's Loveless children.

    2. The wife of Charles M. Hamrick was Elizabeth Jane White. She was my grandmother. "Betsy" Jane came from Dan Hamrick in Family Search. She used "Jane" and that is on her tombstone. It was listed in the 1910 census as Elizabeth Jane, Deleware Township, Caddo County, Oklahoma. Bill Hamrick

    3. Dear Cousins and Friends, I feel so blessed this year on December 24 th. the day before the last Christmas in this century that I have the honor of calling you my special cousin and friend. God has brought our kindred spirits together united for the grand entrance of a new beginning in time. May we savor the moments of these days that will fall into the history of the past as Life moves on ... The big full moon has been so beautiful the last couple of nights - you can almost reach up and touch it - the luminous glow should remind us of the bright shining star that appeared over a manger long ago... So to our family and friends near or far - let us not forget the reason of that Star May your holidays be filled with love and happiness shared with your love ones, Take time to create new memories, reflect on the past ones - may there be Peace on Earth to all. 2. Hamrick
    3. Hamricks! I awakened this AM at 3:30 and could not go back to sleep so decided to read my mail. My first letter was from James Hamrick who told me he had put his GEDCOM of many years of Hamrick research on the worldconnect site. It is a WORK TO SEE and is extreemly well documented. Should you go there click on the URL below, Select 'Search Gedcoms' then put "Hamrick" in the Surname Box and "Patrick" in the given name box. In the last box 'Exclude database' be sure to put 'jrm' to eliminate all the trash on the site. Then if you are from the Rutherford-Cleveland area you can click on son 'James' and his children will appear. Many will be names you will recognize. Other Hamricks can click on other sons and go see other well documented relatives. If you are a Ham(b)rick you can still participate but you will need to read Hamz(b)rick for some of what you see. Enjoy! I am going back to bed and dream about genealogy. J R Hamrick Hambrick Genealogy at: http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com

    3. Debbie, Have been thinking about you lately, wondering whether you've been able to find out anything else. Did the James and Elizabeth on the death certificate turn out to be true? After re-reading this reply from you, I have some questions. Please see my interspersed comments below. Debby Altepeter wrote: > Searching for the following family (The signature that I found on a marriage > license [bond] for child T. F. Elizabeth Hamblin approx. 1850-1875 Did they MARRY during this time period or is that when he was born? Had to have married well before 1875 to have had this many children before 1876. Also, don't see how he could have "died in the war" after 1876 since the Civil War had been over for quite some time by that date. It may be possible that he fought in the Spanish American War which did not begin until 1898. In my database of Arkansas folks I have a J.M. Hambrick born 1864 and a Frank A. Hambrick born 1869; may just be a coincidence as I don't seem to have the other names. I don't even have the names of who they married or where they died, only their names. Keep in touch, Martha > > James died in "the war" after 1876. > Possible children: > Mary (married Crowell) > Joseph > Oscar > T. F. Now I’m the one who’s confused on the children of James Ham(b)rick, Jr. and Precilla -- everyone seems to have the 7 children listed: William, Rebecca “Sally”, Elizabeth, Mary “Molly”, George, Susannah, Ann..... but what about Jenny?? She is mentioned in the will but J R, you don’t have her listed in your register report. Am I missing something here or was ‘Jenny’ the nickname of one of the other girls?
