I am looking for Price who married a Sarah Robinson? in Shelby, NC. One of the children is Carrie who married Charles McCurry. Thanks
Hi J R (and list members), Im responding to this bit you posted: .....On page 14 S C Jones saya Nathaniel Hamrick and Enoch Hamrick were brothers of Price Hamrick. I dont have a single Enoch Hamrick in my database, so I guess Im missing something. These are the children I show for Jeremiah & Anna [?] Ham(b)rick: Nathaniel Uriah Isaac Jeremiah David Price Henry Nathan Sarah Travis Anna Frances Yelverton Selah Celia Looks like the poor people have enough children already (heehee). Can I get more info on this Enoch? It looks like a quandry here - who do we believe....the Cameron Street Hamrick Clan Reunion Committee brochure who says Price is a son of Charles OR the publication of the Broad River Genealogical Society?? By the way, is this latter publication the one that is entitled Founding in America? Im soooooo confused! Jane -------------- >>>[excerpt from J R] Jones, page 14: "Nathaniel Hamrick was buried at Old Buffalo Church, York SC. He was a brother to Price." Jones, page 14: His (Price Hamrick's) brother, Enoch Hamrick"............. If Nathan(iel) was a brother to Price, then both would appear to be sons of Jeremiah Hamrick, Senior. -------- >>>[excerpt from Pat Motes] .....In the 1960's this was published by Cameron Street Hamrick Clan Reunion Committee (No Authorship noted on Publication) George Hamrick settled in Pennsylvania and married Nancy Cook. They had several children. Three sons, Charles, Benjamin, and George settled in Tyron County, now called Cleveland County. Charles Hamrick had a son Price Hamrick, born in 1765 and died in 1822. He married Nancy Bridges.
Do any of you wonderful researchers know anything about the Mexican-American War? I have 3 relatives who died in Mexico, at Charbrusco and Vera Cruz. There is a wonderful site http://www.dmwv.org/mwvets/roh/.htm that gives the casualties. I found none of our Hamricks listed as casualties. Does anyone know of a source that might give a muster list? My great-greatgrandfather and three of his brothers fought in that War as volenteers from South Carolina. Grandfather Hilton was the only one to return. Being a native Texas, I'm very proud of them and would like to know more about that War. Would appreciate any help. Dear Kith n' kin: J.R. McKinney says he is sending me a photo of the Patrick Hamrick monument by mail, and Ron Hamrick has sent me one by electronic means. I thank all of you who have mentioned that you live close to Manassas. There are enough of you to have a big get-together some Sunday. dhamrick@neo.rr.com Dan Hamrick 402 23rd Street NW Canton OH 44709 Phone and fax: 330-454-2376
Yes, when you make out your will you can have it recorded at the courthouse for a few dollars more. That may only mean that is when he had the will written. The Revolutionary War Pension rolls that contain Hamrick and Hambrick are available to me at the Oklahoma Historical Society. Should you need assistance, let me know. Tressie
Hi Bill: You are so very welcome. Any time I can help, give a yell. Tressie
Interesting! Thanks. I suppose one of the Nancys on the 1820 census would be the widow. Nancy Hambrick 202210 - 10200 or Nancy Hamrick 000100 - 01001 Do you know what the advantage was in having the will recorded before death? Less legal hassle? Tressie
Hi, I am a native Texas also with relatives that fought in the Mexican War. One place to check is the individual county they were living in at the time they signed up. THe county information data is growing everyday. Of course, a lot of men came to Texas from other states just to help fight. THe State of Texas Archives in Austin is a fabulous place to research. They have the original muster rolls on everything concerning Texans. I will also check and see what records are availble locally. Genevieve >From: "MARIE S. Tressie Those two bits are most interesting. Many, many thanks. Bill Davenport
"Rutherford Co NC Wills & Miscellaneous Records 783-1868" by Wooley & Wooley Will Book C, pg 79. Will of Price Hambrick made 25 April l808. Recorded October Court 1817. If this abstract is correct, this seems to indicate Price was dec'd by 1817. Is there any reason to assume the will was recorded before he died? Date of death on tombstone reported as both 1820 and 1822.
