    2. J R McKinney
    3. Hamrick's, I am a little like Don Norman. He has done personal research on his own family lines but the other families he has published in his family files are what he has found in family history books and what other family members have sent to him. I am especially blessed in that four persons today have sent me corrections for the Hamrick page. All I have to do is make corrections in my file and gedcom it to the Hamrick page. Everyone knows more about their own family than most others do because they have family Bibles, letters, and other papers that are not available to other researchers. I look at the Hamrick page as a place to put your genealogy so others may find their relationship to the family and some new cousins. This week I introduced several cousins and helped one Hanrick find his ancestors because his father would not speak to him. I need all the help I can get to make this genealogy worthwhile. Some asked how to send me their data. If you can send me a gedcom that is the easiest. I take out only the Hamrick descendants and ignore the rest. Otherwise you can send me group sheets by E-Mail or snail mail to: J R McKinney, 1701 Windsong Trail, Richardson, TX 75081-4615 of FAX 972-680-8656 or if you just want hollar at me call 972-680-3341. I will be away on vacation for a few days but the E-mail, Fax, and Postman are working. I would like to see a hugh pile of new data and corrections when I return. Thanks, J R.

    3. I would like to point out, as regards West Virginia Hamricks, the Don Norman file has almost as many errors as facts. I wrote to Norman about it. He wrote back that he doesn't regard himself as a genealogist; he simply compiles names from records. He said he wouldn't verify the accuracy of anything in his work. That is fair enough. But others sometimes pick it up uncritically without knowledge of what they have. 3. The sharing of genelogical and family info on our Hamrick genealogy list has been generous and worthwhile, please let us all continue to find, extract, share and post anything related to Hamrick genealogy! Bravo! If you surf thru great websites like JR's, Stpehen's and others or anything you think might help us, please share the addresses for those websites also. Ant searchable databases containing Hamrick material are particularly important. Remember to be very direct and clear in your cyber communication, it is easy to misunderstand the meaning of various posts, sometimes. I have an online class for beginners that anyone new to online genealogy might find useful~ http://www.maui.net/~mauifun/1.htm there are 6 classes altogether, starting with session 1, all free. Thanks, Jill ~aloha~ from jill in maui http://www.maui.net/~mauifun/genweb.htm

    3. Wanda, about the link to Bills Creek: Please go ahead and do a link w/o a banner. My program does not make very good looking banners and I do not like the colors. Thank you. Would you like to know how I send out small amounts of email with a message about visiting my web site? Would you like to know how Ike's Rollerskate Outlet got over 110 people to sign up for his email mailing list? How about the way Ike got 2,000 people to visit his web site in approx. 75 days? Some of the ways were expensive...some inexpensive but labor intensive. I am currently using a new method which I will show Ike some time next week. As a matter of fact, the first message I sent you this week was a canned message that only took about five seconds to set up and then emai to you. My testing of this method had increased my hits by about 50 in a three day peroid of time (me estimate) although I cannot say for sure because people are hitting the site via the search engines. Let me know and my sercets, if there is such a thing, will be disclosed. Cecil

This database, which contains references to Revolutionary War ancestors and their descendants, was created from Lineage Books of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution from information submitted by tens of thousands of individuals. Each volume contains approximately15,000 names, making this database of over 1.5 million names, a valuable collection to anyone with ancestors who served in the American Revolution. When they add a new database, it is usually free for anyone to use for the first 7-10 days.
