The date we have: 28 June 1865. We also know she had a sister, Francine, who married Apsley Boulding. And there was an uncle who had reportedly served in the Civil War and was captured and imprisoned in Richmond, VA. Laura married my grandfather, George Stainton TELFORD who came over from St. Bees, Cumberland in 1882. George and Laura were married 18 Feb 1890, presumably in NY and lived in Hell's Kitchen at the time of my father's birth in 1892. They later moved up to 66th St. next to or across from a Baptist Church which my grandfather did not attend being a staunch Scotch Presbyterian! Laura Augusts died 17 Feb 1906 and is buried in Kensico -- I have the burial data. I have searched in vain for her parents and other siblings, numbering about 7 according to rumor. My father was sent to a Baptist school in Suffield, CT when his mother died, and his sister was sent to one of the siblings. She ended up in Philadelphia -- which might have something to do with other HAMPSONs, but I have no way of knowing. Any data on this branch would be appreciated. Robert S. Telford, Long Beach, CA
