He was born in Georgia around 1823. His mother was born in N.Carolina and his father was born in Georgia. He at some point relocated to Texas and married one Carity or Charrity of Florida. They had several children. The Hampton family name was later changed to Hamilton at some point. Any information on Major Hampton's parents or siblings would be greatly appreciated.
