They were living at Diamond Court, Stretford and present were - Jonathan Hampson 40 Catie Hampson 40 William Hampson 7 Jonathan Hampson 5 Ann Hampson 2 John Hulme 9. Except for Catherine, all were born in the county of Lancashire. Unfortunately, the 1841 Census only tells whether or not those listed were born in the county in which they were residing at that time. If it is any help, the 1861 Cenus (ref. RG9/2865 f. 85 pg.17 sch.93) lists their place of birth as Stretford Lancs, except for Catherine, which is Altrincham CHS. John Hulme is Catherine's son from her first marriage to John Hulme in 1829 at Manchester Cathedral. John Hulme was buried at St Matthews Stretford 1831. Their son, John Hulme, was baptised just before his father's death, in Oct 1831, also at St Matthews. Catherine (Brundrett) Hulme married Jonathan Hampson 27 Dec 1833 at Manchester Cathedral. The entry initially stated the groom was John Hampson but 'John' was struck out and replaced by Jonathan. I have not been able to locate Jonathan's baptism at St Matthews Stretford. All I have found is a baptism entry for John Hampson s. of William & Ann Hampson Stretford dated 12 June 1803. I have not found anything at Manchester (IGI -online). Both, Catherine and Jonathan's burial entries appear in St Matthew's Stretford, but I do not have a grave reference. I have Jonathan's death certificate and he died 19 Dec 1865 at Diamond Court ,Stretford, aged 61 years. Mary Mufey of Diamond Court Stretford present at his death. Catherine died 17 Sep 1887 at 29 Moore Street Stretford, aged 79 yrs. Ellen Smith, granddaughter, of 89 Highfield Terrace King St., Stretford present at her death. Their son William married Mary Kinsey in 1854. Son, Jonathan married Mary Burgess in 1857 at Manchester Cathedral. Daughter Ann, was born in 1839 at Stretford. I suspect she married someone with the surname of Smith. (Not very helpful) James was born in 1843 at Stretford and married Martha Blair in 1867 at St John's Manchester. Ian, you mentioned that you have found some census information for Jonathan's other sons. Yes, I would like a copy. If its easier for you, the references for each census would be very helpful. I'll send that photo to you direct over the week end. best wishes Maxine
