Hi Ralph and everyone else, My Hampson family originated in Leigh,Atherton-Tyldesley,Lancaster,England in the birth of my great great grandfather. Benjamin HAMPSON,weaver,father Jane HAMPSON formerly ORRELL,mother(married about Dec.1834) Roger HAMPSON,son,DOB Jan.27,1851(my gggrandfather) Roger immigrated to the USA in 1870. Roger was a state mine inspector for roughly 30 years in Pennsylvania. He married Annie Mary FLYNN of Ithica,New York in Towanda,Pennsylvania in 1873. Roger and Annie HAMPSON had 5 children: William Breed HAMPSON,married 1st to Kate McBride LATHAM of New York. 2nd to Mabel BEYER of Pennsylvania John R.HAMPSON,married Elizabeth HYDE of McKean county,Pennsylvania. Richard HAMPSON,married Gertrude FOLLETTE of Massachuttes. Burton D.HAMPSON,married Marie OLSON Jennie HAMPSON,she married Ellis RODKEY Other known but undocumented children of Benjamin and Jane Hampson are: Jane Hampson GREGORY,who was married to Thomas GREGORY of 11 Twist Lane in Leigh(I have an undated newspaper obit for Thomas GREGORY)They had 5 known daughters and 1 son. Ann Hampson BLUNDELL,a widow,she came to Pennsylvania to live with Roger and his family in 1896. John HAMPSON,was known to be living in the U.K in 1896 based on personal diary entries of Roger Hampson. Will HAMPSON,also named in Rogers' diaries,died in late June of 1896. Thomas HAMPSON,known to be living in Manchester as a grocer in April 1910.I also located a ships manifest from 1904 listing Thomas Hampson and Thomas GREGORY coming to the USA to visit brother,Roger in Pennsylvania.
