In Lancaster,Leigh,Atherton-Tyldesley in Jan.1851,I have my great great grandfather, Roger HAMPSON born,son of Benjamin HAMPSON,a weaver and Jane HAMPSON nee ORRELL. Benjamin and Jane were married about Dec.1834 in Wigan. Other known children are:- Jane GREGORY nee HAMPSON,wife of Thomas GREGORY of 11 Twist Lane in Leigh Known surnames of their daughters are,ALEXANDER,HOPE,PENNINGTON and SMITH. Anne BLUNDELL nee HAMPSON dob Feb.1843-44 dod April 1914 in Pennsylvania.She came to the USA in 1896. Mary HAMPSON...no other info other then being in UK John HAMPSON...known to be living in Leigh in 1896 Thomas HAMPSON...known to be living in Manchester,as a grocer, as late as Apr.1910,I also have a ship manifest documenting a trip to USA with brother in law, Thomas GREGORY, to visit his brother, Roger in Punxsutawney Pa in April 1904. Will HAMPSON...known to be living in UK until his death in June 1896. Roger HAMPSON immigrated to USA in 1870, was not naturalized,according to census notes. He was married in 1873 in Towanda Pa., to Annie Mary FLYNN,who was born in Apr.1851 in Ithica NY to Patrick FLYNN and Mary Annie Flynn nee O'CONNER or CONNER. Roger and Annie Hampsons' children were:- 1.William BREED HAMPSON,born March 1871 in Towanda Pa(he was a son from Annies' 1st marriage)William,also known as Will,was married 1st to Kate McBride Lapham in1895.They had 3 children:- Alice,who died in infancy Emma Josephine dob 1896 dod 1964 Henry Sherman dod 1897 dod 1990 Will and Kate divorced about 1897 to 1900 Will married 2nd to Mabel BEYER in Punxsutawney Pa in Nov.1902. They had 3 daughters:- Christine B.born abt.1904.She married James MUIR.Was known to be in Pittsburgh Pa in 1939 and Florida in 1966. Alice B. born abt. 1906 and married to Dr. Edward NICKLAS of Washington DC as of 1966. Rebecca B. born abt. 1908 and married to Harold SAWYER of St.Louis MO and possibly Tulsa OK as of 1962 and Harrisburg Virginia as of 1966. 2.Richard B.(Dick)HAMPSON dob 1873 dod 1912.Was married abt Oct 1901 to Gertrude FOLLETTE or a variation spelling,of Lynn,Mass.No known children. 3. John R. HAMPSON(my great grandfather) born July 1876 in Barclay,Bradford cty,Pa. He married Elizabth HYDE of Kane,McKean cty,Pa in April 1902. They had 3 daughters:- Anna Lizetta HAMPSON,born Dec.1902,who married John Joseph BURNS of Pittsburgh Pa in 1928.(my grandparents) They had 3 children,who are still living. Sarah Ellsworth HAMPSON,born 1905,who married 1st,George STIGLEBAUER of Milwaukee,Wisconsin,about 1929,he died about 1930-1935 in Wisconsin.They had 1 daughter,named Mary Virginia,who was last known to be living in San Francisco Calif. in the 1950s.She may have been married to someone named SUTTON. Sarah married 2nd to James RODGERS of Ogdan,Utah. Mary HAMPSON,born abt 1906.She married John KUNST of San Anselmo,California. 4.Jennie HAMPSON,born May 1879.She married Ellis RODKEY in 1902.They had 3 children. 5.
