Greetings and a Happy New Year!!!! I am Ralph F Hampson and I am trying to construct a database of all possible Hampsons with details of sources as far as possible. My Gtgrandfather was Alfred Ross Hampson who was a music hall performer in the last quarter of the 19th century . He was married to Louisa Mary Ann Bannister who was a ballerina. Since records of such performers are sketchy ar best I am having some problems tracing their families. Any suggestions/information would be gratefully received. Dear Ralph - You do not give the country you are interested in but it sounds like England. My wife's family on her mother's side are Hampsons apparently all from Walsall, Staffordshire starting with George Hampson and Charlotte Pease or Peake and their eight children. I have some information, gathered as part of my digging up the ancestors, which I am posting to the List as I transcribe it. Please do feel free to add that information to your database. So far mine is all pretty much local to the Radcliffe area of Lanacashire, England, where my Hampsons are from, but I shall add any other snippets I find from elsewhere as I go along as well. Are you intending to make the data available online, either as downloadable files or as a searchable database...?
