Strangely I have a Peter Hampson married to Emily King on May 8, 1870 in South Hayling? Seems like quite a coincidence. I am actually decended from the King side. All I know about Peter Hampson is that he was a soldier. Emily Hampson was living with her parents in the 1871 UK Census in South Hayling. She later remarried Andrew Sedsman and had one daughter, Edith. She may have had 2 other daughters and a set of twins as well. Please let me know if you would like any other information on the King family. Valerie

    3. Valerie Are we talking about the same Emily King? Emily King married Peter Hampson on 8th May 1870 in South Hayling and died on 8 January 1938 (aged 85) in Glasgow, Scotland. She was my Great Grand-Mother. She and Peter had 9 children: William Henry Peter Hampson Arthur McIndoe Hampson Mary Ann Hampson Francis Hampson Caroline Hampson Peter Hampson Mark Alfred King Hampson (1888-1936 - My Grand Father) Alfred James Andrew Hampson (1891) Page 2 entry 24 of the 1891 census for the Parish of Barony district of St. Rollox, Glasgow provides the following information for Emily: Address 115 Glebe Street. Relation to Head of Household (Peter Hampson) wife, age 37. County of birth given as Hayling England. I am not aware that she remarried and have not found any certificate regarding that or indeed any other children, which I would be interested in and would be grateful if you could provide details. Peter died in 1903 aged 65 and was the 3rd son/child of Andrew Henry Hampson and Jean Verbina Macindoe (my great great grand parents). I have a picture of Emily taken before her death.
