She had 6 or 8 siblings, among them Francine HAMPSON who married Apsley Boulding and lived in NY thru WW I. I have no other info on the family and am trying to discover Laura and Francine's parents and how the line ended up on NY. Laura, incidentally, married my grandfather George Stainton Telford who came over from St. Bees, Cumberland (Cumbria) in 1882. They were married about eight years later. Let me know if my family had ties with your N. Hampshire family. Bob Telford

Hi everyone, Am forwarding the mnessage I've received from Rootsweb Admin about work on the Rootsweb servers which will impact on the lists and any webspace you may have with Rootsweb also. Please note that during this time no messages should be lost... they will be held until the work upgrading our part of the system is done, then they'll be sent to the list. So you may have a day or a few days where you get no mail from this list... if that's so then please don't panic, and don't resend the same message - the first one will appear when the lists is back in action. If anyone has any concerns about this you can mail me offlist and I'll do my best to help. -- Cheers, Anne mailto:Anne.Nichols@ukgateway.net http://resource.at/docwra Docwra Family Research Project ListOwner: Dockree, Docwra, Dockery, Garton, Hampson, Schofield Message Board Admin: Chandler, Dockree, Docwra, Dockery, Dockerill, Dockrey, Dockrill, Garton, Hampson Forwarded message follows: From: Vicki Lindsay Thauvin <vicki@rootsweb.com> To: Listowners-L@rootsweb.com Date: Monday, June 10, 2002, 7:08:00 AM Subject: [LO] [IMPORTANT] RootsWeb Upgrading to New Servers ===8<==============Original message text=============== Beginning Monday, 10 June 2002, RootsWeb will begin the complex and time-consuming process of upgrading our servers to new hardware. o What does this mean for you? Well, it means some servers will be unavailable during this time unavailable and we are asking for your patience. For up-to-date information about the different resources, you can visit http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ as the move progresses. o List Administrators: When the time comes to move list servers, we will be halting operation on the machine to complete the move. We expect to have the machines down the least amount of time possible. No mail will be sent from or posted to your mailing lists. We do not expect to lose any messages. o Board Administrators: Nothing, unless your board happens to be gatewayed to a mailing list then the information for list administrators apply. o Web Pages: FTP will be down so that changes can't be made to pages until everything is working correctly on the new servers. There will be a short time that the pages will not be available as the transfer takes place. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we go through a few "growing pains." -- Vicki Lindsay Thauvin RootsWeb Staff vicki@rootsweb.com ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 ===8<===========End of original message text===========

Hi everyone, This is a notice about the usage of the spam blocking service SPAM BAR which is becoming increasingly common with Rootsweb list users. After much investigation and discussion amongst Listowners it has become apparent that the use of this software can cause major problems for Rootsweb lists insofar as it can cause people who are not using SPAM BAR to be unsubscribed from the Lists. This is obviously a situation which none of us would want to encounter. There is no solution to this for subscribers in List mode so the bottom line is if you are subbed to the List in List mode you *cannot* use SPAM BAR. Anyone who does so and from whom the courtesy message is sent to the List advising it that you are doing so will be unsubbed without notice as we will have no way of contacting you. For subscribers in Digest mode there should be help on the Rootsweb Help Desk site http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ how to configure your SPAM BAR settings to allow you to continue to receive Digest mails. The difference is the way the two Lists operate via our list software and SPAM BAR cannot handle our List mode service (it would need the e-mail address of every list subscriber to be added to your accept list and as you are not individually able to access that info it can't happen). So please, if you are thinking about using SPAM BAR bear in mind that you will need to (a) change to Digest mode before you do so, (b) visit Rootsweb Helpdesk for details of how to set up the Digest address, and (c) add the Listowners personal e-mail address (Anne.Nichols@ukgateway.net)to your allowed list (do not use the List-admin@rootsweb.com address for this) otherwise if you do ask me for help with any subscription problem I won't be able to reply to you. As ever, any problems please mail me off-list. I "don't" want a discussion of the pros and cons of SPAM BAR etc on-list please, thanks :-) -- Cheers, Anne mailto:Anne.Nichols@ukgateway.net http://resource.at/docwra Docwra Family Research Project ListOwner: Dockray, Dockree, Docwra, Dockery, Garton, Hampson, Schofield Message Board Admin: Chandler, Dockray, Dockree, Docwra, Dockery, Dockerill, Dockrey, Dockrill, Garton, Hampson
