Hi all With regard to my search re finding out what/where St Hilliers is/was, I e-mailed city.information@southampton.gov.uk, an address Chris had given the list ages ago. I have had tremendous success with them. They in turn passed my enquiry on to local.studies@southampton.gov.uk & they left no stone unturned in getting as many references for ma as possible. They are even going to send me a photocopy of the 1940s map, by snail mail, despite the fact that I'm so far away from Southampton. They have been marvellous & are every bit as good as Ray Hancock & Joanne Smith at Southampton City Archives so don't be shy about e-mailing for help.
