NOT a commercial site but run by the University of Leicester, not much Hampshire but for those researching on other lists this could be a useful tool. http://www.historicaldirectories.org/ We put our name in the search box and it came up with 19 hits, clicked on the link and it brought up the page with the entry outlined in colour. To find more use the HIT button on the left hand side Includes Isle of Wight We put HAYLES in the search box and it found these three with plenty more HAYLES, Henry (Fruiterer) 39 High St Coweds HAYLES Benjamin (Bookseller/Binder) Deadman's Lane Newport HAYLES John (Buuilder) 15 High Street Newport bit slow in loading as the pages are in graphic form and you can print them straight off.
