While I was able to visit England this past year, I made a discovery that my gr-gr-gr-grandfather was born in the Fareham area. I have looked through the Parish records for that time and was able to locate John Shirville chr Nov 1, 1801 at St. Pauls' Church, Fareham (this fits perfectly with what I was able to locate). Little is known about this family. Does anyone have any information on this family? My mother thought he came from France, but my research has proven that false. His father may have come from France, but I don't even know where to search to find about those coming into England. Thanks for any help you might be, Nancy
