    3. My BULL ancestors, travellers and sojourners if not full-blown Gypsies, had horsey connections and there are several references to horses and racing in the few extant records of their movements. One such is mention of a Gypsy encampment and a horse racing venue on a hill near Newton Toney. That may be in Wilts., but only 6 or 7 miles from Nether Wallop. Maybe the track was in between and quite possibly one the Hants ones already mentioned. Why didn't these people keep proper records. It would save all this research and conjecture. 3. Good afternoon all, Ernie, I have a Barbara BULL, born c. 1824 Lymington, Hampshire in my tree. She was the daughter of Charles & Jane. She spent most of her life in Southampton with her spouse, George Weeks. Her son later married a Charlotte Maria BULL, born c. 1873 Brixton, London to Alexander & Maria. They resided in Southampton as well. If either of these are your relatives you may wish to get in touch. Best wishes, Ellen ----- Original Message ----- From: "ErnB" <ernest@ebull5.orangehome.co.uk> To: <hampshire-life@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 30, 2007 11:58 AM Subject: Re: [HAMPSHIRE-LIFE] Horse Racing > My BULL ancestors, travellers and sojourners if not full-blown Gypsies, > had > horsey connections and there are several references to horses and racing > in > the few extant records of their movements. > > One such is mention of a Gypsy encampment and a horse racing venue on a > hill > near Newton Toney.
