Hello Everyone, I am going to Australia next month and I wish to find some information about my ancestor Robert Beavis and his family who went to Australia in 1854 on the "Tantivy". I will be visiting Sydney,Melbourne,Adelaide, NT and Queensland.I know that his son Samuel was born in Australia, and he came back to England with his Father but I would like to know anything about the family whilst in Australia and if his wife retuned to England or not. Please could someone point me in the right direction ? Regards Valerie

Hi Valerie Had a quick look for Beavis in the Australian Vital Records there are a few. Who was the wife do you know. There are a couple of Roberts one with a wife Elizabeth and one with Sarah. Both had numerous children Some NSW and some Vic.So if you can furnish me with a bit more info it may help narrow your search as to which state you need to cover.
