I am seeking information on the following: CHESTER Ann a widow, found in 1861 & 1881 census at Norfolk Crescent South Hayling, a boarding-house keeper. In 1861 there was a 10 year old boarder, Charlotte WHITE living there.. I am interested especially in Miss WHITE as she was illegitimate, and after her birth had nothing to do with her birth mother or any of the family as far as is known. She was born in Essex on March 19th 1851, and baptised on 30th November 1852 at St. Lawrence Winchester. The film extract of her baptism from the register ( No. 311 ) gives her name, mother's name, "reputed" father's name, place of birth & "occupations" of parents. Is there any other record that might give the names of those present at the baptism ? And does anybody have any info re Mrs. CHESTER and/or her boarding house. TIA Joy. New Zealand.
