Thanks Chris and Caroline. I tried the site you suggested, but as I suspected, it wasn't there. In fact, I believe that the church per se no longer exists, but was converted into a warehouse. My only hope is that an Aldershot person may have an old photo tucked away somewhere. Anyway I'm continuing with my biography and have another question. During the early 50s, does anyone recall the name of a revolting orange-type drink which was (possibly) fortified with vitamins. I think it was free (government provided?) and remember being told to drink it because it was 'good' for me. Yuk!! The only consolation was being allowed a piece of mum's bread pudding afterwards :-) Joy
Dear Joy, I think you are referring to Minadex, a tonic to build up children. I still buy for my son to take during the winter to build up his immunity as he has such a poor diet. Boots the Chemist in the UK still sell it as do some small chemist shops. Best wishes, Chris.
