    3. It is not a straightforward question, because some chapels only existed for a short time. Others did not keep registers. Number of parishes, chapelries, and district churches: Those in existence by 1800 - about 290 Those in existence by 1900 - about 425 Up to the present day - about 600 These figures exclude the Isle of Wight. I was ask a simple question the other day, How many Parishes and Chapelries are there to the County of Hampshire. I did not know the answer, nor could I find the number on Famous Google. Oh yes, I could sit in front of the screen and count what different famous sites have listed, but I could not find a how many in total figures. Can someone point me to the right site for this answer?
