    3. The IGI does not have good coverage of Hampshire, therefore many Hampshire parishes do not appear in the Batch Number listing. Kings Somborne has registers dating from 1567, but it is not in the IGI or the BVRI. Hampshire parishes with their register start dates are listed on my site at http://website.lineone.net/~hantshistory To give you some idea of the timescales involved, many of the Hampshire parish registers filmed at Hampshire Record Office in 1982 have not yet appeared in the IGI. A transcript of Kings Somborne Baptisms 1700-1971, Marriages 1700-1961, Burials 1700- 1952 is available on CD. There is a link on my site. Does it not have a church of its own? If not, where would be the nearest one likely for villagers to have used for hatching, matching and despatching?
