This affects anyone who consults old newspaper records, whatever part of the country they are in. You may already be aware of it, but I've only just heard: The historic newspaper collection in Colindale, London (and as much of a pain to get to as Kew!) is to move to Boston Spa in Yorkshire. By 2011 it is expected that access to the newspapers will be at St. Pancras, and by digital or microfilm copies only - originals will only be vaailable for inspection in exceptional circumstances.
