Hello all, If anyone comes across a birth of a Sarah CHAPMAN in their research around Basingstoke, I would be grateful for the information. This is all I have to go on from her marriage in Tilehurst in 1827 and the 1851 census transcription and I am stuck. I can't even find her death. The marriage says she was "of this parish" so presumably she was working there. 1827 No 209 Thomas Selwood of this Parish Bachelor and Sarah Chapman of this Parish Spinster were married in this church by Banns this seventeenth day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred and 27 by me Rd Walker Curate Both made marks: Witnesses Elizabeth Selwood made Mark Charles Osborn? made mark 1851 107/1691 Cresswells Brow Tilehurst Thomas Sellwood head age 48 Aglab born Englefield Sarah Sellwood wife age 44 ag lab born Basingstoke John Sellwood son age 21 aglab born Theale Percilla Sellwood dau age 13 at home born Englefield I live in hope.
