Hi Listers I read an article in a local paper today regarding a lady who was orphaned at birth in 1921 and brought up by her aunt.. The lady is 81 and has been trying to find out more information about her paretns of whom she knows very little. Her father died just before she was born, he was a baker, but also served in the 1WW. Her parents were Elizabeth WHITELAND and Herbert CAESAR . Her father died just before she was born, he was a baker, but also served in the 1WW. During recent years she discovered that she had a sister 6 years older who was born before her paretns married and who lived with another aunt. The girls were sadly kept apart by the family and never knew each other as they grew up in and around Rotherwick in Hampshire. I believe I have found Elizabeth Whiteland on the 1901 age 20 and a reference to the family on the 1891 Hampshire Index - 0956 2+ 82 I have also found a CAESAR family on the 1891 which look likely on `1891 index ref 0956 2+ 81 I think the parents must have had a sense of humour because they named two of the boys Augustus and Julius. Julius looks like he may be the right age to be Herbert and if he changed his name who can really blame him, a baker called Julius CAESAR.............. Is there SKS who could let me know the Census details on the two references please. And if there is anyone who has any register details for deaths in Rotherwick could they possibly have a look around 1920/21 for the deaths of the couple. The lady has been in touch with the vicar but he was unable to help. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Bev
