I will forward this to a friend who lives more directly in Hants, than I (in Sussex). I'm sure he was telling me recently that there was funeral - or famous one had died recently, but that there is still at least one French onion seller who makes the trip every year. Will enquire. He's in Petersfield, and works once a week in the "best untouched pub of the year 199something" .. The Harrow at Steep.. been in the same family for 70 years. The matriarch Ellen died recently,and the funeral was attended by 400+ people .. and the free bar ran to the region of £10,000!
