Reminds me of the soppy looking girl we had as a post girl. We tried everything to get a rise out of her, but she had a knack for turning the tables. We sent her to the store for a dozen spirit level bubbles. She came back with 4. "It's all they 'ad. Gi'us a requ for the rest and they'll be in Tuesday." Then we sent her for 2 dozen 1/2 inch holes. She came back from the blacksmith's shop next door - where the storeman had sent her - with a sheet of metal on a sack trolley. There were 24 1/2 holes and an invoice for £5. Those were the days, Eh?
