I tend to pick up the accents of anyone I am talking with for 10 minutes, be they English, southern or whatever. I do not consiously do this. I was born and raised in Florida and I do not sound southern and people often ask me where I am from after I talk with them for a few minutes thinking I am from somewhere near their town. But, I swanee, ya'll got me over they're with that belle speakin the true language of the south. I can't do it unless I'm around folks, but the ones I do not like to be around much are from the new England states with their pahk the cah and go to the pahtty. Not trying to make any favors, but I do love to talk to people with a british accent because I love to speak with it and cannot do it unless I have been talking with someone. I cannot fake it. So, if any of you come to Florida, look me up so I can talk like the Brits, even the Cockney languages. :o) Margaret Never compromise what's right and uphold your family name.
