This means it is wild guesswork by some individual, not based on fact but on possibility, because the person has some later association with christchurch. It has not been checked and should not be treated as hard information at all. The usual source for this is that the person named was married there, and is therefore guessed to have been born there a set number of years before. The only unusual feature is that the deduction for a female is usually 21 years (for a male, 25). -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society
Eve, Thanks very much for this. I thought I was getting closer to finding Ann CUTLER's birth but my hopes have been dashed :-(( Perhaps I could resolve this if I looked in the Christchurch PRs around 1750. Then I'd know if it was fact or fiction.
