Gosh Margaret And we thought English was the international language, do you mean everyone doesn't speak English, (good grief Charlie Brown). (only joking) American English is acceptable over here we are saturated with it on the TV., Radio and cinema and by your servicemen during WW2. we don't mind at all, at least it is understandable. If you follow the Hants life threads on accents you will see that Australia in the main does not have that problem all speak Australian English (no dialects), except for some recent immigrants but then it only takes a generation or two before they are integrated into the good life. But then our population still relatively sparse and does not have the ethnic concentrations as in your country. We advise that if you want some of the good life come over now before we are swamped.
