The English are a hybrid lot that have benefitted from the process. Hybridisation can be good. Without hybridisation we would not have the magnificence of, for example, David Austin's English Roses. In the Parliamentary Riding/constituency in which I live in Toronto, with some 114,000 people, there are 48 different languages listed as the "Mother Tongue" in the recent census.. Some of the most gifted and qualified "Canadians " are Refugees and Landed Immigrants. The world is changing, and a hankering for the past will do little but to make the change more painful. Accept the reality and make it benefit you and your community.
