On Radio 4 this morning there was a woman from Fort Worth Texas(?) who wanted to recycle her Christmas cards. So she tried locally and thre was nothing and she decided to try the net and there was not one place in the whole of the US that would recycle them. The first eight that came up on the search engine were all UK so she chose one and emailed the council and asked if she could recycle her cards and to send the address. The site was in the Isle of Wight and she did not know where this was but contacted them and they agreed but thought it would be environmentally uneconomical but she went ahead and spent $4 sending them by ship so that it was environmentally friendly and they arrived safe and sound in the Isle of Wight, she has now passed the information on to her friends and family and they are saving up all their cards from the year and will send them to the Isle of Wight. So shows that the UK does lead the world in one aspect!! Chris
