    3. Not sure Bev but I think you will find that during Wartime a lot of the sailors hats had HM Destroyers, HM Submarines etc meaning they were posted to destroyers or submarines. Not necessarily that there were ships of those names which as far as I know there weren't. The same with the Marines men serving with the marines would have HM Marines on their hats. The name of their ship would not have been on the hatband. I think that is the case, if not somebody with more sea knowledge will correct me I'm sure.
