    1. [HAMPSHIRE-LIFE] 1914 East Liss butcher/poulterer surname BAKER

    3. Hello all, I am looking for the family BAKER, living in I believe East Liss in 1914. My grandfather wrote from the his army training camp in 1915, giving his address as: C/O A.E.Baker, Station Road, EAST LISS. I have a photo, showing himself and four other soldiers standing in front of an open fronted poulterers shop. Also standing there is a man who is probably the poulterer with his wife and two little girls. The name board at the top although not complete, does show enough for the name BAKER to be a huge probability. I have tried looking through the BMD's, coming up with 30 names of births between 1898 and 1918 in the district PETERSFIELD. There are also several possible marriages around 1904. However I feel as if I can't see the wood for the trees at the moment. Could someone please give me some assistance with this and also the 1901 census? Thanks, Tony Holland

    3. Tony - I just went up 'Station Road' 1901 census 10 Station Rd Butcher shop owner Mark Mitchell Head Age 35 Employer. Then another Butcher shop at 16 Station Road this is William looks like Carfendtor or Carpenter , but anyway can't see a butcher shop for a A.E BAKER, Station takes four census pages. Have save them if any good to you? To many BAKER to do a proper search without more info.
