    3. In all this nostalgia there has not been one reference to Flanagan & Allen and their warm, gentle, relaxed style of singing was mimiced by many wannabe's, including me. It was somewhat in contrast to their more hectic comedic performances in "The Crazy Gang." "The Crazy Gang" comprised of three comedy double acts - Nervo and Knox, Flanagan and Allen, Naughton and Gold . I can remember seeing a performance at the Victoria Palace in the early 1950's Bud Flanagan, was born Reuben Waintrop in Spitallields, East London in 1896 and Chesney Allen was born William Ernest Chesney Allen in Brighten, Sussex in 1894. You can listen to some of their song at this site. Sadly it does not include "Underneath The Arches" http://great-song-stylists-uk.com/Flanaganallen/Flanallen2.htm David ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris & Caroline" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 18, 2005 5:00 AM Subject: [HantsLife] more nostsalgia > Another website with nostalgic Radioi and TV > See Sooty and Sweep and Bagpuss excerpts > Chris > http://www.sterlingtimes.co.uk/ > > > -- > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. > Version: 7.0.308 / Virus Database: 266.11.11 - Release Date: 16/05/2005 > > > ==== HAMPSHIRE-LIFE Mailing List ==== > "GENEALOGISTS DO IT IN TREES!" > > ============================== > Search the US Census Collection.
