I have failed to discover the wheareabouts of this house, too. It comes from the DNB Lady Alicia Lambart(1818–1913) born 1818 at Eaglehurst, near Ower Green in Hampshire, the daughter of George Frederick Augustus Lambart, Viscount Kilcoursie (1789–1828). I cannot even find any trace of a place called Ower green. Is this a misprint? Thanks Helena

Hi Helena, Ower Green appears (as 'Badminston and Ower Green') on Milne's 1791 map, seaward of Ower. It was a large area in 1810 to the south of Badmestone Farm - also shown on the 1864 OS map (as if it were the name of the settlement as well). Now part of Badminston Common. Eaglehurst is (still) to the south of Ower Green, near the shore. David
