    3. In a word NO see my earlier reply Provisions Dealer handles both dairy products and bacon and cold meats as well. Where as a grocer deals mainly with other products such as biscuits, tinned food, but he can also deal in provisions. Most shops were labelled as J Smith Grocer and Provision Dealer or similar I did an apprenticeship for International Stores and went on to work for J Sainsbury and all their shops were classed as groceries and provisions and there was a grocery manager and a provisions manager (which I late became). The main difference being that provisions included bacon, cold meats, dairy products where as groceries covered everything else except fresh fruit and vegetables which came under greengrocery.
