Eaglehurst features again on my website, if you are looking for places try the search engine at the start. This was the idea of the website to run in conjunction with Hampshire life till I expanded it and covered more counties. For Eaglehurst go to the Fawley page http://www.southernlife.org.uk/fawley.htm IT IS a very well known place in the area as Queen Victoria WAS going to have this instead of Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. Also look under Calshot http://www.southernlife.org.uk/calshot.htm and you will see that Eaglehurst was also the home of Marconi. And that a narrow guage railway ran from here to Calshot. Later during the war Eaglehurst was extended to cater for the number of personnel passing through. In Fawley church there is the Eaglehurst Pew on the south side. And the statue of Christ the King which stands in the alcove on the south wall of the aisle is a relatively recent gift from the neighbouring Parish of Beaulieu. It was orginally in the church at Park (now dismantled) and had been placed there in 1908 in memory of Mr. H.A.
