Hi Chris ... and happy birthday, Caroline for tomorrow - or rather, today - Every blessing for the year ahead! I'm still trying to track down my GATCUM (Gadcume/Gatcombe etc) family. In looking for a marriage for Richard GATCOMBE, in (or near) Chilbolton around 1725, I came across this one on a CD I had for Christmas 28 October 1724, in Whitchurch (or Overton), Hampshire, Richard GODCOME married Catherine MORRELL of Whitchurch (or Freefolk). I'm wondering if anyone on the list has the registers for Whitchurch (or Overton, although Philimore's shows the marriage as being in Whitchurch) and if so, could have a look at the entry to see if it gives any clues. With fingers crossed, Joy
I can remember the time when I used to celebrate birthdays. So enjoy it Caroline. I am certain that Chris always spoils you, or so he has told me. If you are getting slow responses with the net or your email the cause may be a virus that has been going around the last few days. We are not sure of its name but a lot of UK businesses and website hosts have been hit. The virus causes the traffic on the net to more or less double thus decreasing speed, as reported on BBC News today. Chris and Caroline --- All of our Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Is there anybody out there that has a photo of the old World Stores, Travellers Rest or Royal Oak in Totton? We just cannot seem to find any of these anywhere and would dearly love a copy as the first and the last have fond memories of, not the booze though as too young then!!!
