    3. Thanks, Pat. I do have the 1881 info, but unfortunately the family was no longer in Wiltshire in 1891 (someone who has all of 1891 Wilts transcribed checked for me). My hope is they were back in Hampshire by 1891. Thanks again. 2. Dear Listers; Thanks to Ben Skeates who suggested I download GED4WEB @ http://www.ged4web.com/ I think this information is worth sharing. For those who might be considering putting there family tree on there own web pages this software will be of great value. Overview GED4WEB is a Windows® 32bit program (Win95, Win98, NT, XP, ME, and 2000) that exports GEDCOMs, pre-existing genealogy files, to HTML files (web source format using HyperText Markup Language codes) for publication on the Internet. GED4WEB was developed when I found while researching my own family tree, that low cost programs having features such as multiple output formats, security options, color-coded generations for easy viewing and more, were not available. The results were as follows Using 7200 resolution it took 3 minutes to scan the frame Resultant file size was 106Mb .(a problem if you don't have at least 128Mb RAM) In PSP the original size ratio was 22.1 Zooming in to ratio of 1 .1 the lines of text were blurred and impossible to read. There were 98 frames on one fiche , actually scanned in one operation only 9 appeared through the film mask on the scanner, so we are talking of 11 scans at 3 mins per scan so about 1Gb of hard disk for each fiche. 3. Hi Just started researching the GEAR families of Hants in particular those of Hursley and Wonston. Of interest in particular is Charles GEAR born about 1840 and who was a Baker and Grocer - wonder if he had a business in either of the above locations - are there any lists of businesses in that area from about 1880 onwards? Many Thanks Sarah

    3. Could anyone help with a look up on the 1851 census and one on the 1891. Both are for the parish of Wickham. On the 1851 I have found in the indexes Peter Munden 63, Eliza Munden 53, and Jane Munden 12 all on bundle page number 318. Also Sarah Munden 66, and John 66 both on bundle page number 319. I would like to know the addresses but mainly the relationships. On the 1891 I have John 38, Elizabeth 36 Munden on RG12/0882 and Alfred Munden on RG12/0884. Any help would be much appreciated. By then, all other papers had editorial matter on the front pages, including pitcures. There is an Official Index to The Times which is available overseas in a few major university libraries (6 in Canada, at least 3 in Australia) -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society
