True Chris this does not save the address book but that is easy to backup on its own. Open windows explorer (assuming W98) and go to Windows/Application Data/Microsoft/Address Book and then copy the file to a floppy or other drive. This file can then be regularly overwritten as and when you want. colin
Thought this might interest people!! Had it sent in today from a reliable source!! This will bring utter chaos!!! Chris and Caroline It was 'announced by the Minister for Arts, Baroness Blackstone, in July 2002, [that] the functions of the Public Record Office (PRO) and the Historical Manuscripts Commission (HMC) will be joining together in April 2003 to form a new body, the National Archives.' The article goes on to say that ' during 2003 the HMC and its search room will be moving to the current PRO building at Kew, and there will a redesign of the public areas to allow this to happen . Once the move is complete, researchers in the PRO will be able to locate and look at lists for private collection held elsewhere . In the longer term, there will be joint development of the online systems . the programmes of making popular family history material available as digital images will continue.' --- All of our Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. I have my hard drive partitioned in two. "C" and "D" drives. I use "C" for my operating system and all the programs that I use, and "D" for all my files, even the ones that a program wants to save within itself. That way, if I have to resort to reformatting my disk, it is only "C" that actually gets formatted. All my files are safe and in place. Regards, Dennis Cwmbran, S.
