Joy, My mother seems to remember the 'baby orange juice', It was given by the clinics to mothers with baby's and young children but she says she can not remember the name or even if it had a specific name. sorry i couldn't be more help, Suzanne
Thanks Chris and Caroline. I tried the site you suggested, but as I suspected, it wasn't there. In fact, I believe that the church per se no longer exists, but was converted into a warehouse. My only hope is that an Aldershot person may have an old photo tucked away somewhere. Anyway I'm continuing with my biography and have another question. During the early 50s, does anyone recall the name of a revolting orange-type drink which was (possibly) fortified with vitamins. I think it was free (government provided?) and remember being told to drink it because it was 'good' for me. Yuk!! The only consolation was being allowed a piece of mum's bread pudding afterwards :-) Joy

Seeking information about Lloyd Poore b 1811 in St Mary Bourne to William and Willoughby Poore, I have located Lloyd on the 1881 census married to Charlotte? and living at Wadwick Newbury Rd, and was a farmer, with one son Alfred Lloyd aged 24. I presume that there may have been other children, but have been unable to find any details about him. Have checked the LDS site and BVRI, and also free BMD but he does not show up anywhere. Could someone please check either the 1851 or 1861 census to see if he shows up on them. I have found Charlotte a widow, Alfred (son) and his wife Florence on the 1891 census. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sheila Poore South Australia

Hi everyone, I am trying to find out more about my gggrandmother Janetta SMITH. She was born about 1812 on the Greek island of Zante. Her father was James SMITH. She married a man with the surname of MARTIN but was rapidly widowed. In 1838 she married a seaman named Charles FARNDELL at St Marys Church, Portsea. She had 10 children and died in 1894. I would love to find out about her parents. What were they doing on a Greek island in the middle of the Napoleonic war? Does anyone recognize James Smith? John Moon
If nobody hears from us for a few days don't worry as this bug has really got us incapacitated!! All we want to do is sleep, one minute we are cold then hot. The last time I went off line people worried and emailed Moya!! But we are okay really just want to sweat this out. This is one virus we wish we could scan with Grisoft!!! All we hope is we get a good nights sleep tonight as last night right up to 3am we had gang of yobs outside fighting and causing mayhem!! Had to call the police out twice!! By the way learnt something today, if for some reason (UK residents only) you cannot dial 999 then dial 112 which is the European emergency number!! Don't try it out to test us as it DOES work!!!
