I remember Ben's name from past mailings....so glad he is doing better....especially at 87! More power to him! Get well, soon, Ben....... Suzy in TX ----- Original Message ----- From: Chris & Caroline To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, July 12, 2005 1:40 AM Subject: Ben Skeates Just to let you all know I have just heard from Ben Skeates' daughter Kirtsty. Ben is now out of hospital and is progressing well and she or he will keep us informed of how things are going. Ben is our oldest subscriber at around 87 years old and has been a great contributor to the list ever since we started about five years ago, and has trasncribed much of Philimores and the Bishops Waltham files. I have recently seen a photograph taken in the Alresford area, dated c 1875 of a these people: Lily PICKER, Olive WIGG, Nellie JONES, Tom JONES, Robert BEAR, John MEACHAM, George GILES and Harry GILES. I am able to identify four of them in the 1881. George GILES is definitely one of mine, and Harry may be, but I would be interested in learning about any of them, and the owner of the cart, George JONES.. Robert BEAR who appears on the 1881 as a licensed beer seller is shown holding two glasses of what could very easily be beer. The women, none of whom I identified in the 1881, are sitting upfront of a cart and the men are standing around it. The cart belongs to "George JONES Preston, Chilton and Brown Candover Carrier 1864 xxxxxx & Winchester " Any information would be appreciated. Thank you David

And to think we Brits are to be given a voucher for 1kg of CO2 to use when we buy petrol or an electrical appliance. If the developing world 60%, USA 25% and Oz 4% are excused cutting CO2 and we have to cut total CO2 to only 80% of 1992 figure, That means the rest of the world, Europe and Japan, have to reduce their output from the current 11% to minus, yes minus 9%. How will that be done, killing every insect might help. Off topic but ............ Our prayers and thoughts go out to those who have lost loved ones and suffered casualties and distress in the mass murder in London today. This was not an attack on the government or on people in authority but against the normal chap in the street who was going about their lawful business. God bless them all Chris and Caroline -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.323 / Virus Database: 267.8.10/43 - Release Date: 06/07/2005
May I offer my deepest sympathy to the residents of London and the whole of the UK. Only cowards will hit out at innocent people, but whoever they are obviously don't realize that the British will not cow down and creep away in fear, they will come out swinging ! They didn't take it in WW2 and they won't take it now !! Keeping you in my prayers, Pam, an Aldershot gal in Arizona.
