    3. Hi all I have just uploaded the final componant of Geoffery Knott's early entries and my later entries of the Steep Parish Registers. Burials from 1610 to 1973 which is not a complete listing, so if your rellies are not to be found there, then that does not mean they were not buried in Steep. There are a total of 1682 burials for Steep. Good luck Cheers Lesley Please visit my website:- http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~buriton/index.html

    1. Re: [HantsLife] Total number of Parishes and Chapelries, How many??
    2. Alan McGowan
    3. It is not a straightforward question, because some chapels only existed for a short time. Others did not keep registers. Number of parishes, chapelries, and district churches: Those in existence by 1800 - about 290 Those in existence by 1900 - about 425 Up to the present day - about 600 These figures exclude the Isle of Wight. Alan McGowan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Hillier of Esperance Western Australia" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, September 18, 2005 2:55 AM Subject: [HantsLife] Total number of Parishes and Chapelries, How many?? I was ask a simple question the other day, How many Parishes and Chapelries are there to the County of Hampshire. I did not know the answer, nor could I find the number on Famous Google. Oh yes, I could sit in front of the screen and count what different famous sites have listed, but I could not find a how many in total figures. Can someone point me to the right site for this answer? Cheers Steve

My great grandmother was married to a Thomas Lee b1855, who came from a farming family in Exminster Devon. My grandmothers birth certificate gives her address for the birth as Park Hambledon.Date 1895. We have a picture of Park House Hambledon at home handed down from this Great grandmother(Rosetta Rundell). I know the Foster family that lived there did emigrate to new Zealand about 1890ish.I can find no record of Thomas Lee after her birth cetificate, although he is deceased on my grandmothers wedding certificate in 1925. I wonder if anyone knows how I acn find out the history of Park House, or alternatively if there are any sites for checking farms or tenancies in Hambledon? I am at a dead end. Any help gratefully received! Debbie
