    1. [HAMPSHIRE-LIFE] Burial place of my Sophia & Thomas Lowman
    2. Heather Smith via
    3. Hello List I do not know Hampshire very well as I live in West Yorkshire. I did live in Totton for a while and my first daughter was born in Southampton General in 1965. I have the death certificates of both Sophia & Thomas Lowman. Sophia died on 14 April 1906 at 62 Grove Road Woolston Itchen UD aged 85 years wife of Thomas Lowman a Builder (MASTER) cause of death Senile Decay Heart Failure. W. Jackson Son-in-Law in attendance. Death registered by him on 17 April 1906. Thomas Lowman died 17 April 1906 at 62 Grove Road Woolston Itchen UD aged 88 years Builder (Master) cause of death Senile Decay Intest. Obstruction 3 days. W Jackson again registered the death on the 17 April 1906. The couple were married at Eling Parish Church in 1842 and spent their lives in Netley Marsh apart from their last few years. They were in Bear Lane Netley Marsh for the 1901 census Sophia is 78 years old and Thomas is 82 years of age. I think that they may have gone to live with one of their daughters and a son-in-law W. Jackson. Mr Jackson registered their deaths on the 17 April 1906. All the family are buried at Eling or Netley Marsh church grounds but they are not there. Any ideas gratefully received as to where they were buried. The Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery state that they are not buried there and they checked at the Hawthorne Centre as they have records of all the cemeteries in the Southampton area but no luck. They must be buried in a church graveyard. Does anyone have the burial register for Hound Parish Church someone suggested it as a possibility? Kind regards Heather Smith

    3. Hope the list owner lets this through as its quiet, wet, cold and miserable outside and a bit of humour is what we all need! Chris A little girl asked her mother, "How did the human race appear?" The mother answered, "God made Adam and Eve and they had children, and so was all mankind made.." Two days later the girl asked her father the same question.. The father answered, "Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved." The confused girl returned to her mother and said, "Mom, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?" The mother answered, "Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his."

Hello List, I hope our listowner will forgive me for putting this message on the list as it is really off-topic, apart from the fact that Arthur in Connecticut, who is also a subscriber has sent me a query regarding a message from another subscriber. I have tried to reply to him but for the third time in the past month my message has been returned saying the message has not been delivered because the address is "blocked". It is likely that Art is unaware of the problem and I have no other means of contacting him. Regards, with apologies, Rod. --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! 3. William FOSTER married Anne WHALE in 1805 in Twyford. They lived in Bishopstoke/Owlesbury. She died in 1851 in Owlesbury. I have a whole lineage of her ancestry but for him I only have the 1841 census that states he was abt 60 born Hampshire, so born abt 1780. I can't find any records of a Wm Forster in that area + or - 5 years of 1780. The 1841 gives Anne's age as 55 and she was born 1785 so he was definitely around the 1780 mark. Also they had George chr, 1806 in Twyford and Jane and Charlotte 1807/1810 in Bishopstoke. Then I can't find any others until Ann 1823 Bishopstoke. I feel there must be others in between. but can't find anything. Thanks for any help.   Paul Eggleton
