I've been pursuing the name of PRICKTOE/PRICTOE and occassionally PRESTOE. This is a very scarce surname so I've been extracting all of the records that I can from the internet. Jane PRICTOE was my ggg g/m born Knights Enham 1836. The name is almost exclusively from that area. I have visited the LDS library and extracted most of the Andover records and have linked most of the PRICKTOE family. Thanks to "The Genealogist" I have been trawling through the BMDs since 1837 and have reached 1960 so far. Thanks to ancestry I have from 1851 through 1901 censuses (although unfortunately they have taken the 1851 offline for a while). I have found several "cousins" through the Hants list and also the Wilts list, as some of the line went over the border to the Hungerford district. One other line went to Brentford. I would be very interested in any knowledge of living Prictoes because they are almost certain to be linked to the tree that I have created and Iwould love to get in touch with them. Offshoots from this line in the Andover area are BULPIT, FISHER,WEEKS, BIRD and two lines of SMITH Paul
